Active BLS; Active ACLS Must-Have: Cath Lab RN experience Cardiac
rhythm interpretation experience preferred Knowledge of
intra-aortic balloon pump preferred Scrubbing in for procedures
experience Description: This position cares for patients before,
during, and after angiography and other diagnostic testing and
procedures. Responsibilities include pre-procedure assessment,
pre-medication, documentation of the catheterization process,
post-procedure care, and patient education. The nurse scrubs in for
procedures and assists other members of the catheterization
laboratory. Performs nursing care for cardiovascular patients and
conducts diagnostic nursing procedures according to department
protocol. Assists in various cardiac diagnostic procedures,
evaluates and screens patients for safety prior to testing, and
provides sedation monitoring in accordance with hospital policy.
Involves performing Holter monitor applications, event monitor
applications, ambulatory blood pressure monitor applications, and
pacemaker interrogations. Inserts PICC lines and functions as a
vascular access expert to meet patient needs. Operates equipment
and manages supplies, including cardiac output and hemodynamic
monitoring equipment, pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, crash
carts, IV pumps, defibrillators, and other nursing supplies.
Records all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets.
Develops, reviews, and enhances cardiovascular education materials
and programs. Scrubs in for procedures alongside the physician.
Performs additional tasks as assigned. The role may include on-call
responsibilities with rotations requiring flexibility including
