Representative, this position will be familiar with all products,
their application and preparation, in the PPG Automotive, CPC and
Fleet lines to assist customers with proper product selection while
providing excellent customer service and sales support
efforts.Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES:I. Sales SupportFamiliarize
self with all products, including their application and
preparation, in the PPG Automotive, CPC and Fleet lines.Assist
customer in proper selection and application of product to develop
expert relationship.Support sales reps/stores with technical, sales
and marketing assistance as needed.Further knowledge/skills
regarding sales techniques and methods.Assist in color verification
and field color formulations.Assist store operations with internal
training at all levels.Develop training aids and implement as
needed to effectively communicate information.Assist customers in
set up and implementation of mixing systems.Allow self to be
readily accessible to customer for advice/assistance through use of
cell phone, etc.Build/manage relationships with Territory Managers
(TM), Store Managers, etc.Identify potential problems and work
through with sales and operations support network.Give immediate
attention to customer comments and complaints, and advise Region
Manager of such.Know PPG's competitive advantages.Actively seek to
become key knowledge source for Customer regarding automotive, CPC
and Fleet products.Support sales effort by analyzing sales
potential and development of new and existing accounts.II.
ManagementControl expenses, remaining within budget, and maintain
required records/documentation and submit as required by
management.Further knowledge of automotive, industrial, and fleet
finishing industry through company training, trade journals,
seminars, etc.Efficiently budget technical support calls to ensure
the best use of time and company resources.Know, understand and
perform to all aspects of the Quality Management System Manual.Know
paperwork flow and provide documents as required.Know sales goals
and formulate plan of action to attain or surpass figures.III.
MarketingCollect reliable customer and territory
information.dentify current market competitors and their strengths
and weaknesses.Know Painters Supply and Equipment Co.'s competitive
advantages.Read and interpret market information and identify
opportunities.Participates in special project assignments and
completes other duties as assigned.Develop, implement, and maintain
action plans to meet and exceed targeted revenue and profitability
targets for both existing and new customers.Prepares sales call
reports, proposals, quotations, forecasts, and business
plans.ADDITIONAL DUTIES:Answer telephone in a professional manner,
answer questions knowledgeably and/or take customer orders per QMS
Work Instructions.Conduct self in a professional manner to ensure
customers' quality and service expectations are met.Operate vehicle
in accordance with all state, provincial and federal laws while
maintaining an acceptable personal driving record. Employee is
required to carry Automotive Insurance per the company
policy.Assist in the store during times needed, i.e. vacation,
personal, medical absences, etc.Assist with inside customer
service, as needed, including servicing customers and/or processing
their orders per the QMS Work Instructions.Process sales
transactions using POS devices and company policies and
procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS:Employee is required to lift and carry approximately
25 - 50 lbs. frequently and 75 - 100 lbs. on occasion. The employee
will spend approximately 20% of the time sitting, 60% standing, 10%
walking, 10% stooping, climbing and kneeling. In those stores where
the employee is required to mix paint, the employee must be able to
perceive color differences and wear safety equipment as required.
Must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors. Must be able to
physically demonstrate paint and associated products by utilizing
various product delivery systems such as spray guns and other
related equipment.TRAINING REQUIREMENT:Listed below are the minimum
training requirements necessary to become certified in this
position.Required Courses - Product Training CoursesRIGHT-TO-KNOW
Training (U.S.), WHIMIS (Canada)Safety TrainingPersonal Protective
Equipment (PPE)Quality Management System (QMS)Attend various
manufacturer training seminars and/or training schools. Seminar may
be conducted after normal business hours. Training schools may
require overnight travel up to five (5) days.OTHER
REQUIREMENTS:High School or the equivalent is required. College
degree is preferred, especially in the business/marketing
area.Prior sales experience in related industry preferred.Knowledge
of product technology and product application usually obtained
through one or more years experience in other company positions or
related experience in the Automotive Refinishing industry
preferred.The employee must be able to dedicate sufficient work
time to achieve and/or surpass job requirements.Ability to work all
scheduled hours as needed. If usage of employee's own vehicle is
required for company business, employee must obtain appropriate
insurance per company policy.Employee must be licensed to operate
vehicle in accordance with state, federal, and provincial law. Must
have acceptable driving record from DMV/MTO. In business since
