As a Cook you will prepare and cook delicious food for our residents here at Care Cardinal. The starting pay rate for this position is $17 to $19 per hour, depending on experience. We are looking for a full time cook and also a part time cook. The shift time for both positions will be from 6:30am to 3:00pm. Both the full time and part time cooks are required to work every other weekend and every other holiday. Essential Functions: Prepare tasteful, nutritionally balanced meals on pre-planned menus Prepare meals with consideration of resident's preferences and food safety standards. Ensuring resident special diet are offered and prepared, recognizing, a resident right to choose. Complete dining room service, including set up, service and clean up with high hospitality standards Assist with inventory and maintain supplies in all common area kitchenettes Follow the sanitation schedule for the kitchen, equipment, and dinning room to maintain standards of sanitation and cleanliness Serve as a back up to the Chef for ordering adequate supplies weekly based menu, budget, current inventory and storage capabilities Promote positive relationships with the residents, staff, and visitors Qualifications and Skills: High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent Culinary arts courses (preferred) 1-2 years' experience with cooking/baking in a commercial setting or a combination of education and work experience.
