Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Coordinates activities of instructors engaged in training employees or customers of industrial or commercial establishment in installation, programming, safety, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for leading Skilled Tradesmen and/or Janitorial staff in problem resolution, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Will actively participate in projects to enhance overall performance. Direct activities through Skilled Tradesmen and/or Janitorial staff to attain production goals consistent with safety, quality, delivery, housekeeping, and waste elimination. Reviews the root cause analysis to evaluate equipment and manpower resource requirements. Accountable for consistent application of policy and procedures throughout the plant, including both attendance and corrective action. Coordinates and leads activities with other functions such as operations, materials, engineering, quality and any other departments, as necessary. Assists in establishing budgets and resource requirements for planned maintenance and manufacturing projects. This includes forecasting manpower, equipment, and material needs. Comply with and support the health, safety and environmental programs, including policies and procedures. Handling discipline and commendation on his/he assigned shift. Must work within the guidelines of the union contract. Establish and monitor standardized work. Confers with managers, instructors, or customer's representative to determine technical training needs. Attends meetings and seminars to obtain information useful to technical training staff and to inform management of technical training programs and goals. Monitors instructors during lectures and laboratory demonstrations to evaluate performance. Develops and conducts technical training programs. KEY Qualifications: Industrial/Commercial Leadership SAFETY knowledge Prioritize work ADAPTABILITY Customer Service Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Communication Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Customer Service Skills Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but noninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Positive attitude to promote successful team environment and strong work ethic and sense of integrity. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
