Gordon Food Service At a Glance There's a seat at our table for you..The Nutrition Resource Center Customer and Data Specialist provides support to the Nutrition Resource Center (NRC) department and Dietitians of Gordon Food Service. This person maintains and provides quality assurance for the Gordon Food Service nutrition and ingredient database (central office systems), front line customer hotline support, and menu/project support.What you can expect from this role:Responds to phone/fax/email inquiries from internal and external customers and provides nutrition, food safety, and product selection information.Leads the data coordination with support from the team to collect and load nutrition and ingredient information for the GFS database and K12 documentation.Supports Region and Corporate events by applying for Continuing Education Credits through the appropriate professional associations. Collects necessary information and submits to the association within required time frames.Implement and process customer invoices for all NRC services. Track and record invoices for budget consolidation.Coordinates Cycle Menu Management activations and cancellations. Identifies trends in cancellations.Provides assistance with customer projects such as entering recipes and menus into Cycle Menu Management.Maintains knowledge of the US Nutrition Labeling Education Act (NLEA) to ensure company compliance; communicates any changes needed to appropriate departments and software vendors to use the GFS nutrition data.Maintains knowledge of GS1 nutrition and ingredient standards related to the nutrition database and how it impacts GFS systems.Our ideal candidate will have:Must have knowledge of nutrition and food safety standards.Previous foodservice industry experience with nutrition or food safety related experienceBachelor degree in Business, Science, Nutrition or related fieldThis position requires excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills.Attention to detailFind out more about our values, culture, and benefits at gfs.com/careersBe part of it!Gordon Food Service values our customers and understands that their success is largely dependent upon their workforce.
