This role is part of the Take 2 program, which is a program
designed for those who took a career break of two years or more and
are looking to re-enter the workforce. This program provides you
with 12 week support system in the form of mentorship, professional
and technical learning paths, and a community of the program's
alumni network to support your career re-entry journey!
We will make you a full-time employee upon hire, and eligible for

Take 2 Alumni liaison will contact you before your first day and
provide additional support as you go through your first 12
The Controls Engineer will design, build, and troubleshoot
electrical control systems for machinery and equipment that
manufacture best-in-class and tech-forward vehicles. As a Controls
Engineer you'll be applying your technical expertise to the
powerhouse behind GM's profitability through the delivery of
exceptional vehicles that inspire customer loyalty.
Duties include implementing standards and procedures plus
coordinating machine control modification needs with engineering
and maintenance. Typical duties include developing, debugging, and
troubleshooting control logic programs along with other related
- 2+ years of working experience
- Must have taken 2+ years away from career field to qualify for
this Take 2 role.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
- Controls experience in manufacturing environment
- PLC experience with ladder logic, and schematics
- Mechatronics degree or training a benefit.
Would be helpful, but not required for the job:
- 4+ years Controls experience in manufacturing
- 2+ years of PLC work experience
- General knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is
- Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley and GE Fanuc
hardware/software a plus.
