Specialist ObjectiveTo serve as the lead staff person for the Food,
Agriculture & Resources in Motion (FARM) Science program logistics,
including the FARM Science Labs and Van. To manage the day-to-day
activities, internal and external communications, and billing of
the program. To assist in the marketing efforts of the Michigan
Agriculture in the Classroom programs with members and external
school-related audiences. To manage the Michigan Foundation for
Agriculture online store for order fulfilment, FARM Crate ordering,
and store ordering and restocking. To serve as the lead staff
person for the FARM Crate logistics, including order processing,
ordering crate materials, working with the print shop, and packing
and shipping the crates.ResponsibilitiesMichigan Ag in the
Classroom Specialist ResponsibilitiesManage the FARM Science Lab
scheduling and recruitment process with schools from initial
contact to the post-visit evaluation, including invoicing and
contract. Oversee the communications with FARM Science Lab contract
educator pool, including recruitment, training logistics,
scheduling, and expense reporting. Provide training for the
Regional Educators who teach in the FARM Science programs. Present
at volunteer training opportunities with Agriculture in the
Classroom and the FARM Science Programs. Manage the FARM Science
Lab hauler logistics, scheduling, and expense reporting. Track and
coordinate timely fulfillment of consumables for both FARM Science
Labs and the FARM Science Van. Schedule maintenance and repairs for
both FARM Science Labs and the FARM Science Van. Teach in the FARM
Science Program annually. Serve as the primary substitute educator
in the FARM Science Lab or Van. Manage the collection and
presentation of data to assist in evaluation of ongoing
effectiveness of the FARM Science Programs. Work collaboratively
with the Agriculture in the Classroom manager to market and promote
Agriculture in the Classroom and the FARM Science Programs to
target audiences. Build connections between FARM Science Program
stakeholders (teachers and administrators) and members of the Farm
Bureau Family of Companies (county Farm Bureaus, regional managers,
county volunteers, and agents.) Manage the logistical processes of
the FARM Crate program including communications with MFB counties,
order processing, ordering of crate materials, working with the MFB
print shop, and packing and shipping the crates. Manage the
Michigan Agriculture in the Classroom (MIAITC) online store, and
work with the Farm Bureau warehouse staff and P&E Department to
assure adequate inventory maintenance. QualificationsMichigan Ag in
the Classroom Specialist Qualifications RequiredBachelor's degree
in education required, or equivalent experience may be considered.
Two years volunteer and educational experience required.
Willingness to pursue continuing job-related training and education
required. Customer service, project, or event management required.
Experience working in multi-staffed office environment required.
Experience with data collection, management and reporting required.
Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving
