Job Description:

In this position you will act as a liaison between the JAG Specialists and the community in the development of paid and unpaid work experiences. Provide support for employer marketing, job development, community outreach and post-secondary enrollment. In addition, serve as a resource in supporting the JAG programs, JAG Specialists, and JAG students. This position reports to the WIOA Youth Director, who evaluates performance annually.Shift and Compensation* Monday-Friday* 40,000 a year salary* Full benefits, PTO, and paid Holidays!Job Duties1. Marketing/Community Outreach1. Knows and understands the Goodwill Mission Strengthen communities by empowering individuals and families through education, training, and job placement.2. Establishes ongoing partnerships with corporations, businesses and organizations or community agencies to strengthen student learning and community engagement within the JAG schools.3. Creates all related materials available to guidance counselors and school staff such as flyers, JAG marketing material and handouts.4. Develops methods for sharing materials and systems between the schools about employment or internship opportunities.5. Builds relationships and partners with college admission and guidance counselors to create open lines of communication.6. Takes a leading role in planning our Annual Career Development Conference.2. Post-Secondary/Career Outreach1. Provides one-on-one support to students throughout the college preparation process, including but not limited to: college search, application, ACT/SAT testing, financial aid and the transition process.2. Assists specialists and students with scholarship search and data management.3. Assists specialist in coordinating college visits, employer visits and field trips.4. Presents college preparatory activities (guest speakers) to the JAG classes on college admission as well as other post-secondary options such as: trade schools, apprenticeships, short term training programs and military service.3. Work Experience Development1. Works with JAG Specialist and JAG students presenting information regarding work experiences.2. Provides technical assistance for all areas of career and employment questions for in-school JAG classrooms and out-of-school JAG alum during their year of follow-up and beyond.3. Works closely with the Youth Business Service Representative identifying employers and area partners to develop and maintain relationships in supporting JAG students.4. Screens, completes paperwork, and collects timesheets of students participating in work experiences.1. JAG Specialist Support1. Manages and provides data on guest speakers, model service activities, IDP and Coordinators reports.2. Prepares monthly reports for regional and state performance measures.3. Provides assistance and support to JAG Specialist including subbing if needed.4. Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.5. Attends meetings with the JAG Manager and Youth Director.6. Attends open houses, job fairs, recruitment events as needed.Background Profile* Extensive Travel to support staff for Coordinator duties -FAFSA, College Apps, Fairs, Mock Interviews)* Strong oral and written communication skills.* Excellent counseling skills.* Be creative, organized, and able to work independently.* Ability and knowledge of interpreting assessments.* Excellent planning skills.* Excellent data entry skills.* Ability to network and collaborate with various entities.* Knowledge of regional education and training offerings, including Adult Education Centers.* Must possess a current drivers license.* Must possess current automobile insurance that provides adequate coverage.* Must be able to pass a criminal background check.Education and Experience:1. 2 years related experience.2.
